Brian Whiteside served as the Gwinnett County Solicitor-General after he was elected in November of 2018. The Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office is responsible for the prosecution of all State misdemeanor crimes in the State Court of Gwinnett County and all County ordinance violations (including traffic citations) in the Recorder’s Court of Gwinnett County.
Brian Whiteside has been practicing law for over 25 years on both the state and federal level. His legal experience has covered a vast area of civil and criminal law and has a broad mix of private and public sector experience. He also has 15 years of experience as a police officer, seven of those 15 years were spent with the I was a member of “Cruiser Car”, a High impact detection in-progress crime, and crime deterrent division. The purpose of the division was to systematically deter crime and if a crime was in progress to immediately respond to it and as a police detective. He is a former Gwinnett County Sheriff Deputy and a former Police Detective in Gary, Indiana.
Brian Whiteside obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law Political Science from Purdue University and his J.D. from John Marshall School of Law.
Brian Whiteside has been a Gwinnett County resident for over 30 years. He and his wife Cathy have been married for 47 years and have three children.
